Spartan soccer wins 3 in a row
Three games ago the Lady Spartan soccer team changed their formation, and their way of thinking, and they haven’t lost a game since then. On Tuesday, Union hosted Wallace Rose Hill and went on to defeat the Lady Bulldogs 1-0 in overtime. It was a tightly contested game throughout, obviously, and Union had just enough to win in the end. Lady ‘Cats take down Titans in soccer
The Hobbton Wildcat soccer team took on the Trask Titians on their home field and came away with a 3-1 conference win Tuesday afternoon. Hobbton coach Wes Cone said, “We had excellent teamwork and the defense kept the backside clear. Clinton splits with E. Duplin; boys get win, girls lose
Clinton varsity baseball moved to 5-4 in the conference after Tuesday’s win against East Duplin, ending the night with a score of 14-3 by the 10 run rule. Head Coach Tracey Thornton for Clinton said he liked what he saw from his team tonight. “We took advantage of the game and had a good win. We’re ready for play offs” Thornton stated. Hobbton Middle and Midway Middle tangled on the baseball diamond Monday afternoon, with the powerhouse Raiders taking the game 14-1. But the young Wildcats put forth great effort, particularly in the early innings when, coaches said, they looked good both from the mound and on defense. Raiders slip past Leopards in final inning
In a game that began on Friday, the Midway Raiders ended it with a run in the bottom of the 7th on Monday. The game between Midway and the visiting Lakewood Leopards had been suspended in the 4th inning on Friday due to stormy weather. The Raiders came away with a 4-3 win.
