The Hobbton Wildcats varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams both picked up wins yesterday over Southern Wayne. The varsity took a 3-1 win while the junior varsity won 2-0.

The Cats varisty squad fell 25-22 in the first set, but battled back winning 25-17 and 25-14 in the second and third to take a 2-1 lead. They would prevail in the fourth set 25-17 to claim the win.

“Our sets were there allowing us to set up the middle and outside hitters,” said Coach Russell Jones. “The team is making great strides and I’m proud of the way the way they are playing right now.”

The varsity now stands at 3-1. The JV record is 2-0.

Hobbton will play at Goldsboro on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
