The Lady Wildcats paid a visit to Princeton on Thursday night for an important conference match. The outcome didn’t turn out exactly as Hobbton wanted, with the Wildcats losing 3-0, but Coach Russell Jones was pleased with the team’s effort.

“They worked hard against a really good team and I saw some good things along the way,” Jones said. “We are getting better.”

Jones added that the team was still struggling with putting points on the board, getting one or two points per rotation while Princeton was getting six or seven points per rotation. Scores for the match were 25-17, 25-15 and 25-20.

Hobbton’s record is now 10-6 overall and 6-4 in the Carolina Conference. Princeton also won the junior varsity match, defeating Hobbton’s JV, 2-0. Scores were 25-17 and 25-9.

The Hobbton JV squad is now 5-9 overall and 3-7 in the conference.
