Fifteen teams consisting of 60 golfers recently teed it up under overcast skies to play in Tim’s Gift Hope Project Golf Tournament at Coharie Country Club.
The Hope Project Golf Tournament began in 2011 when Cameron Spell, son of Becky and Tim Spell, realized that Tim’s Gift needed to offer financial assistance, as well as medical supplies and equipment, to cancer patients and their families. All proceeds from the golf tournament go directly to The Hope Project.
Families receive assistance with co-pays, medicine and medical expenses. The money generated by generous donations and sponsorships go back into local communities (paid directly to hospital, doctor’s offices, pharmacies or other agencies) to help people in need.
“We are deeply humbled by the outpouring of community support and appreciate every person who played any part in making this year’s tournament a great event,” Becky Spell Vann of Tim’s Gift said. ” God was glorified as golfers, volunteers, Jennifer and myself, board members and guests enjoyed a great day at Coharie.”
