Over the course of the last two weeks, high school sports has been put on the back burner amid Hurricane Matthew devastation and recovery.

All games last week were cancelled. In football, it was decided by the North Carolina Athletic Association to move all football games back a week, meaning the final regular season games will now be played on Thursday, Nov. 10, or Friday, Nov. 11. This will allow all games to be played.

According to information received Thursday, on Nov. 10, Wallace-Rose Hill will play at Midway. On Nov. 11, Union will play at Clinton and Lakewood will play at Rosewood.

It will also mean that the first round of the playoffs will start on Friday, Nov. 18. The soccer playoffs are to begin Saturday, Nov. 5. The volleyball teams have played three games this week and the first round of the playoffs is next Saturday.
