The Dark Horse tennis team traveled to take on the Triton Hawks on Wednesday and came home with an 8-1 victory.

Winning singles matches for Clinton were Peter Darden, Turner Wells, Cooper Brewen, Nick Brewen and Jared Stephenson.

The Dark Horses swept the doubles with Zach and Peter Darden playing No. 1, Turner Wells and Cooper Brewen playing No. 2, and Nick Brewen teamed with Trevor Leggett at No. 3. The win gave the team a record of 3-1.

On Monday, the Dark Horses played host to East Duplin and took a 9-0 victory.

Each team member had a win in the match.

Winning singles matches for the Dark Horses were Zach Darden, Peter Darden, Wells, Cooper Brewen, Nick Brewen and Stephenson. Winning doubles matches were Cooper Brewen with Lukas Jerez, Leggett with Wesley Cowand, and Rick Daughtry with Justin Pike.

Clinton is now 4-1 on the season and ranked 10th in the state. They will travel to 4A Lumberton on Wednesday afternoon for another non-conference match.
