The Princeton Bulldogs took a bite out of the Hobbton Wildcats Friday night in high school football action. The final score was 15-6, Princeton.
The Wildcats scored in the second quarter on a 34-yard run by Raekwon Bryant. The point after failed on a 2-point conversion attempt.
Princeton got both their scores in the second half. They came out inspired on offense. Their defense had been tenacious all night. Earl Gibson scored on a 48-yard run with 10:42 left in the third quarter. The extra points were scored on a run up the middle by Jarrett Pearce to put the Bulldogs up 8-6.
Princeton’s second score came midway the final quarter on an 8-yard run by Matthew Stallworth. The point after was good on a kick to raise the margin to 15-6.
Wildcat coach Robert Hill said, “That was a tough one. Its been a long week with 2 games in a week. We really didn’t have a good week of practice. We are really better than what we played tonight. It’s just a matter of going back and working on fundamentals.
Raekwon Bryant led the Wildcat effort with 85 yard and 1 touchdown. The Wildcats had 143 total yards.
The Wildcats get a break next week and host James Kenan on Oct. 23.
