In the end, Christ School erased a 15 point deficit to knock the Crusaders out of the playoffs, in the 44-43 shootout.

After scoring a touchdown with just over four minutes to play in the game, Greenie quarterback, Drew Johnson, completed a two-point conversion to put them on top.

Marcus Scarborough led the rushing attack for HCA in an extraordinary outing. He had 275 yards on 28 carries. Harrells had a total of 442 rushing yards in 69 carries.

Scarborough scored four touchdowns for the Crusaders. Kevin Carney also scored, with an 8 yard run, and Ethan Hall found Gray Fussell for a 22 yard pass play just before halftime that gave HCA a 27-20 lead entering halftime.

The Crusaders had no answer for Christ School’s passing game. Drew Johnson went 24-30 on the night for an impressive 444 yards, accounting for three touchdowns. He also scored a touchdown on the ground.

Harrells finishes their season at 7-6, but will be haunted for a little while with the fact that they were held scoreless in the fourth quarter to relinquish a fifteen point lead. Christ School improves to 10-2 overall, and are now headed ti the NCISAA Division II State Final.
