“I didn’t know how my guys would come out and respond. Practice wasn’t that good yesterday. We came over here with 8 players. We pressured Lakewood some and tried to play up-tempo. Hat’s off to Collin King. He came out shooting the basketball tonight and my motto right now is: you’re going to play as long as your want to,” said Hobbton coach Alphonso Hooper. “Hat’s off the Coach Pittman. To start with they bothered us some. I told the guys to keep attacking. I didn’t realize we had that big of a margin until I look at the scoreboard. Our guys just kept attacking. We played real good defense. We took their shooters out of the game. J. Owens hit some big 3’s for them. They just didn’t shoot well tonight. The bad part is we turn around and play them again Tuesday in the first round. I just hope my guys have something left to play them again with,” concluded Hooper.
The two will meet again Tuesday in the first round at a TBD location.
