The Hobbton Wildcat baseball team hosted the Clinton Dark Horses Wednesday. The Wildcats got an 8-1 win over the Horses.
The Wildcats pretty much dominated the Dark Horses. Gage Herring pitched a great game, and the ‘Cats got the bat on the ball with 8 hits. Clinton had just 3 hits, and were hard-pressed to generate offense, as problem that they have had often through an early portion of the season.
Jackson McLamb had 2 doubles with 4 RBI’s to lead Hobbton. Hunter Britt collected 2 hits, Justin Adkins, Brandon Rogers, Greg Herring and Gage Herring had 1 hit each for the Wildcats.
“We played a great game all around tonight, it was a great effort,” commented Hobbton coach Chris Carroll. “Gage (Herring) was awesome on the mound. He had great control. Our outfield played tremendous defense. I want to congratulate Clinton for coming out and playing a competitive game and wish them well for the rest of the season,” he concluded.
Stats for Clinton were unavailable at press time.
The Wildcats travel to Rosewood Thursday and will host Spring Creek for their next game at home. That game is set for Tuesday, March 15.
