The Midway soccer team scored early and often in Monday’s game against Pender. Midway built an early 5-0 lead, led 5-1 at halftime, and then finished off the visiting team by a score of 6-1 for their 10th win of the season through their first 15 games.

Midway was led by a hat trick from Manasia Cobb, as she scored 3 goals to pace the Lady Raiders. Emily Williams, Kacey McLamb and Anna Apperson each scored 1 goal as well. Apperson added 3 assists to her line, as she continued to display her skill for finding an open player en route to the net.

“It was a good performance from our girls tonight,” said Midway’s head coach Trey Apperson. “Our girls continued to play unselfishly, and we played solid defense tonight. We got a lead early and were able to play all of the girls which is definitely something that we always try to do.”

Midway’s overall record is now 10-5, and they are 6-4 in conference play. They are set to take on Wallace at home on Tuesday before they take a trip down south to Heide Trask on Friday.
