The Mintz Christian Academy softball dropped an early lead over Columbus Christian to fall to 0-2 in conference play. The Lady Lions jumped out in the top of the first with 3 runs forcing a pitching chance for the Columbus Pacers. The Lions held for 3 innings until a big rally in the fourth put the Pacers up 8-3. MCA had opportunities in the fifth with Hanna Horne hitting a double and 2 walks loaded the bases, but they could not score.

Alexis Shirley went the distance with four strikeouts. Coach Heinz said, “ We just have to keep getting stronger at the small things that make a big difference. Overall though, I am happy with the progress we have made.”

Mintz is set to travel to Antioch Christian next Tuesday to wrap up the season.
