The Lady Wildcat soccer team celebrated Senior Night and claimed another win with a 1-0 victory over visiting North Duplin. It was a hard fought match that saw both teams miss scoring opportunities.

Wildcat coach Jonathan Jacobs said, “It was a wet muddy win; it was sloppy. It was senior night and I’m happy with what the girls did for our senior and how she could leave with a win. Tomorrow (Thursday) is a big game against Lakewood with the game deciding who gets 5th or 6th place. That may not seem like a lot but when you get into the playoffs it can make a big difference in the seeding. We are looking to spoil Lakewood’s Senior Night.”

Jovanna Zapata scored the winning goal for the Wildcats, who are back in action against Lakewood on Thursday for the season finale. Check for up-to-date sports stories online at clintonnc.com.
