The Hobbton Wildcat Track Team had a great day Saturday at the Eastern Regional track and field meet at Heidi Trask High School. The boys were first in the regional while the ladies were runners-up, just 5 points behind the winner.

The Wildcats will have 26 athletes, up from 10 last year, participating in the state meet Friday in Greensboro. Hobbton coach Jeffrey Klaves said, “Regional Champions is like saying we just won in the 4th round of the playoffs and are the final 4 in the state.”

Since track is a “non-revenue” sport, Klaves has set a go fun me to help pay expenses such as food and motel rooms for the state meet. You can participate at: https://funds.gofundme.com/dashboard/HobbtonSTATEBOUND
