A Clinton man was robbed and assaulted Monday inside his home by unknown assailants.
According to the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department, a 53-year-old male was struck in the face and was forced inside his home on LP Brewer Lane. During the aggravated assault, a knife was used to commit the crime, according to reports. The local resident reported that he was robbed of $1,200.
Lt. Marcus Smith of the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department reported that victim was outside of his residence when he was approached by three unknown black males, who allegedly assaulted and robbed him of the cash. The suspects later fled the scene.
No further information could be provided by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department. The incident is under investigation.
