Area churches plan Women’s Day, spring revivals


On April 29-May 1st, a three-night spring revival will be held at St. Stephens Holiness Church, Turkey, at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Tonight the guest speaker is pastor Shirley Pigford and choir of Uplift Revival Church, Mt. Olive; Thursday, The Rev. Everlena Oliver and choir of St. Jude Disciples Church, Warsaw; and Friday, Elder Diane Brown and choir of Holy Tabernacle, Roseboro.

Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate Women’s Day Sunday, May 3. The Rev. Phyllis Bolton will deliver the message at 11 a.m. accompanied by the women’s choir.

David Marable, Clinton; Thursday, Dr. Hattie Lofton, Four Oaks; Friday, The Rev. Ricky Dawson, Stedman. The Chapel Hill combined choir will render the music. Refreshments will be served.

On Friday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m., Joy Night will be held at Littlefield MBC, Newton Grove. The guest speaker, Evangelist Shirley Devone of Goshen Disciples Church, Faison, will minister the word.

On Saturday, May 2, noon-5 p.m., Holy Grove Church of Christ, Ministry Outreach Program, is held for Victorious Empowerment. The theme is: M.O.V.E. There will be food, music and ministry for family and friends. Location: Royal Lane Park, Clinton.

On Saturday, May 2, 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., the 7th Annual M.A.C. Community Fun Day will be held at 15375 Spivey’s Corner Highway, Dunn, on the Midway Elementary School grounds. On Sunday, May 3, at 11 a.m., First MBC, Kenansville, will have their Women’s Day Celebration. The theme: The women of faith on the move encouraging other women. The guest speaker, pastor Patricia Peterson of Joyous Praise Church, Warsaw, will minister the word. Presiding will be the Rev. Joyce Pearsall. The women’s choir will render the music. Dinner will be served following the service.

On Sunday, May 3, at 11 a.m. Union Star Freewill Baptist Church, Clinton, will celebrate their Mother’s Day Service. The guest, Dr. Lillie Strocks of Clinton, will minister the word, and the women’s choir, will render the music. Dinner will be served following the service.

On Sunday, May 3, at 11 a.m. Women’s Day will be held at White Oak Disciples of Christ Church, Newton Grove. The speaker is Eldress Minnie Bennett of Bentonville Disciples of Christ Church. Holy Communion and Foot Washing will be immediately after service.

On Sunday, May 3, at 4 p.m. the Mission Auxiliary will celebrate their anniversary, and the guest speaker is the Rev. Kimberly Walker of Roseville Baptist Church. The Chavious Family of Rosehill, will render the music. Refreshment will be served following the service.

On Sunday, May 3, at 11 a.m. Running Branch Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton, will observe their Mother’s Day Service. Eldress Willa Strickland will minister the word, and the women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 3, at 11 a.m., Women’s Day will be observed at Morning Star Holy Church, Clinton. The speaker, Minister Lena Clark, will minister the word, and the women’s choir will render the music.

On Sunday, May 3, at 11 a.m. St. Stephens Holiness Church, Turkey, will celebrate their Annual Women’s Day. The guest speaker is pastor Patrica Faison of All Saints Holiness Church, Dudley. The women’s combined choir will render the music. Dinner will be served following the service.

God’s Flower Garden Banquet at the Western Assembly Building on Friday, May 8, at 7 p.m. Attention to :The Western Assembly Disciples of Christ Churches Inc, Family. The Floral Auxiliary is asking each church to participate in our banquet this year, by appointing a team captain to represent your church flower. Tickets are: $10 each, children under 10 years old eats free. The church with the most presentation, will receive a special prize. As well as being the captain, someone will need to speak on the flower for three to six minutes. We are expecting a high time in the Lord, and we need each church to participate in this celebration. Mr. Eddie Williamson will celebrate his 85th birthday today, Wednesday, April 29. On Sunday, May 3, at 4 p.m. a birthday dinner celebration will be held in his honor by family and friends, in Fayetteville.

Mr. John Frank Rattley will celebrate his 80th birthday Tuesday, May 5. On Saturday, May 9, at 5 p.m., a birthday gospel celebration will be held in his honor by family and friends at St. Jude Holy Church, Clinton. Various groups will participate on this event.

On Sunday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Mother’s Day will be observed at Holly Grove Church of Christ, Clinton. The guest speaker, Minister Diane Newkirk of Greater Six Runs MBC, Turkey, will minister the word, and the women’s choir will render the music.
