The Sampson Middle baseball team defeated Roseboro-Salemburg 15-14 in a close matchup Monday.

Bailey Spell and Wade Sumner led Sampson with 3 hits each. Spell had 2 RBIs and Sumner had 1 RBI. Marcus Richardson, Chris Royal, and Grant Naylor all produced 2 hits each. Richardson had 2 RBIs, Royal had a homer (1RBI), and Naylor had 2 RBIs.

Wade Sumner was the winning pitcher and Jake Taylor got the save.

Sampson will face Roseboro again tomorrow in a game at Roseboro.
