Luke 8:51,52 says “and when he came (Jesus) into the house he suffered no man to go in save Peter, and James and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said (Jesus) “weep not she is not dead, but sleepeth.”
This week I would like to encourage you in the Lord, and let you know that the power to change the atmosphere lies within you.
Jesus walks into a house where a young girl had been pronounced dead. They had already prepared themselves for the funeral; even the mother and father had lost hope. This father knew of Jesus and had heard about the miracles he had done throughout the country. In fact, he, at one point, “fell at the feet of Jesus” asking him to come and help his daughter who was severely sick.
Jesus, who was passing through, was taken by the crowd of people who just wanted to touch the border of his garment for healing.
Have you ever walked into a room or around people and they gave off a bad vibe? Every word that comes out of their mouth is a complaint about something or somebody. The atmosphere has been set by these people who are always sad, depressed, bitter, unthankful of life and always finding fault in other people.
Saints of God, hanging around these people in this atmosphere with these traits can have you acting just like them. In fact, what little bit of joy you have in Jesus and all that he has done for you can be stolen through this atmosphere. You will take on the habits and language of whoever and whatever you hang around.
The power to change the atmosphere as Jesus did when he showed up lies deep within you. You don’t have to settle for these things, speak life, speak the word of God, speak blessings, speak peace into your house and workplace atmosphere. Every time Jesus showed up somewhere the mood changed because he walked in the power of authority that was given to him by God. You and I have been given the same power to do the same if we would begin to proclaim it.
