George “G.C.” and Elizabeth “Beth” Pope, of Fayetteville, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Pope, of Athens, Ga., to John Samuel Beck, of Fayetteville, Ga., the son of Danny and Julie Beck, of Fayetteville, Ga.

The bride-elect is a graduate of The University of Georgia and is a Kindergarten teacher, Jackson County Schools. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George M. Pope of Clinton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willis G. Barrett of Sanford.

The groom-elect is also a graduate of The University of Georgia and The University of South Carolina School of Law. He is an Associate with Slepian, Schwartz and Landgaard, Peachtree City, Ga. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Beck and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roger Weldon, all of Hapeville, Ga.

The wedding is planned for May 19, 2012 in Athens, Ga.
