Clinton FFA earns top honors at state FFA Land judging event

The Clinton FFA Chapter recently participated in the 58th Annual North Carolina Association Land Judging Event on March 30-31 in Robeson County.

Junior team members are Paige Tatum, Nick Jones, Breanna Worrells and Lydia Strickland. Senior team members include Colby Royal, Susan Jones, Austin Senger and Brandon Massey. Ronnie Warren is the Clinton FFA Advisor.

Clinton’s junior team placed first in state with team member Paige Tatum earning high scoring individual. Clinton’s senior team placed 3rd in state with Colby Royal earning high scoring individual.

Over 60 teams from across N.C. participated in the event and the Clinton teams and high scorers will be recognized during the 84th North Carolina State Convention in Raleigh on June 19-21.

This annual Land Judging event encourages students to analyze land characteristics such as soil type, erosion and drainage to determine the best possible use. This event is one of 42 different career development events offered to North Carolina FFA members on the state level.
