Luke 22:2-6 says “And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; (Jesus) for they feared the people. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number twelve. And he went his way, and communed (conferred) with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. And they were glad and covenanted (agreed) to give him money. And he (Judas) promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.”
Saints of God, the root of evil is Satan himself, and as he did to Judas so is he still doing to willing vessels of men today. Judas opened his heart to greed and because of this Satan was able to come in and plant some seeds of his own. What would possess a man to kill another man — evil which comes from the Satan. Some people don’t want to call it like it truly is, but I believe it’s time to stand up and speak the truth and call it like you see it.
Everyone may not see it like this, but if they open up there Bibles (outside of Sunday morning) they will see and understand what’s taking place right before their eyes. Satan looks and prowls for weak-minded people who are living in a cemetery of self pity. He looks for those people who are emotionally channeled, meaning that life can throw them an issue and they operate out of their emotions. Some of Satan channels that he uses to get into a person heart include pride, stress, worry, doubt, envy, anger and bitterness, just to name a few. If these things are not turned over unto the Lord Jesus Christ, the longer they dwell with you and the more opportunities Satan has to work with. Ephesians 4:27 says “neither give place (an opportunity) to the devil.”
Just because you are a Christian don’t think this can’t happen to you. Look at Judas’ life, my brothers and sister. Judas ate with Jesus, he saw the five thousand fed, he saw the blinded eyes opened, he saw the lame walk, the mute speak and yet Satan “entered” into him and used him to betray Jesus. If he did that to him how much more would he try to do the same to you and me if we gave him a chance?
Evil is of Satan and don’t fool yourself thinking it’s a psychological problem that people are quick to say these shooters have. 1 Tim 4:1 says “Now the spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing (deceiving) spirits and doctrines of devils.” As the chief priests did to bride Judas so is Satan doing this to people who open themselves up to him. Saints of God “Satan” is real and is for real.
