Investigators are searching for the suspects who reportedly shot up a 57-year-old Newton Grove man’s home Sunday evening.

According to reports, the disabled man returned to his residence, located in the 900 block of Kenan Weeks Road, around 10 p.m. Sunday night to find minor damage to his home from the bullets.

Damaged in the incident was sheet metal, some wall paint and a television stand. The total damages were estimated at $2,300.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

When investigators arrived on scene they talked to the homeowner, who was out of the house at the time of the incident, discovered the damage and recovered the two bullets.

“The suspects fired two shots into the home,” explained Cpl. Marcus Smith Monday. “The investigation is ongoing and we are hoping that someone in the area may have witnessed the incident or may have some information.”

If you have any information on this shooting you are asked to call the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-592-4141. All tips will be kept anonymous.
