CLINTON — Mrs. Johnnie Mae Sampson, 79, of 434 Beverly Lane, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

Mrs. Sampson is a native of Asheville, and the daughter of the John and Pauline Cunningham Sullivan. She relocated to Beacon, N.Y. in 1950 and recently in 2002 became a proud resident of Clinton. She was preceded by two sons, Rayford Sampson III and Billy Rae Sampson.

Home going service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Bolton officiating. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Sandhill Cemetery.

She is the loving wife of 40 years, Rayford Sampson Sr. of the home; sons, Terry Jerome Sampson of Raleigh and Donnie Sampson of Clinton; daughters, Donisha M. Sampson of Raleigh, Janet Rae Sampson of Clinton and Angela Hasken of Washington D.C.; brother, John Sullivan of New York; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Public viewing will held from 1 until 7 p.m. with family present from 6 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12 at Hope Valley Funeral Service & Cremation and other times at the home 434 Beverly Lane.

The Sampson-Sullivan families have entrusted Hope Valley Funeral Service & Cremation.
