Garland honors Norris
Sandy Norris was named Garland's Citizen of the Month for October 2012 during the town's recent board meeting for her 'exemplary dedication and support for the town of Garland.' Norris, president of the Garland Rotary Club, was presented a plaque by Mayor Winifred Murphy. She thanked all the board members and town employees for all they did to help the Rotary Club during last week's fair and parade event. 'We couldn't have done it without you,' said Norris. 'You helped us make it a successful day. I think everybody enjoyed it and we just all had a good time. So, thank you all very much.' (Chris Berendt/Sampson Independent)
