FAYETTEVILLE — Mrs. Katie Pridgen Butler, 75, 5406 Cardigon Court, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband, Rev. James F. Butler Sr.; three daughters, Linda Brownlee of Fayetteville, Tara Smith of Fayetteville, and Shelia China of Kotzebue,Alaska; one son, James F. Butler Jr. from Garner; six sisters, Clarissa Gibbs of Patterson, N.J., Martha Smith, Peggy Hines, Dorothy Morris, and Annette Samuels, all of Fayetteville, Patsy Mayes of Spring Lake; two brothers, Marshall Pridgen Jr. of Patterson,N.J., John A. Pridgen from Durham; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Public viewing Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 1 to 6 p.m., with the family present 5 to 6 p.m., at Butler & Son Funeral Home, Roseboro.
