The weather has definitely turned fallish and the Sampson Community Theatre is preparing to get us all into the spirit of Christmas. In a couple of weeks, Sandra Clifton will have her cast of “Nuncrackers: the Nunsense Christmas Musical” ready to present to our audiences the first of six shows. The Little Sisters of Hoboken will be portrayed by Marcelle Powell, Caitlin Joyner, Jessica Watts, Angela Martin and Theresa Padgett while the school children will be played by Carly Jones, Zack Lucas, Oliviyah Moore and Lucas Jackson. Guy Padgett will become Father Virgil and Michael Daughtry will provide the music. There are some unusual and surprising songs in this musical while there will also be some well-known carols so make your plans to be at the Sampson Community Theater at 8 p.m. on Nov. 2,3, 9. 10 and at 3 p.m. on Nov. 4 and 11.
This Saturday at 10 a.m., Dan Holland will be holding auditions for “A Christmas Caro,l” based on the classic story by Charles Dickens. Dan needs about 35-40 actors for this show which includes members of a chorale in addition to Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas. This show will be staged on Nov.30, Dec. 1,2,7,8,9.
Thanks to the Rotary Club and Sanderson Quik Stops for their purchase of granite blocks under our marquee. Quincy Edgerson will be engraving these blocks in the very near future.
The granite blocks under the theater’s marquee may be purchased as an honorarium, a memorial or to advertise your business. The blocks are cemented into the sidewalk and should be there into the next century or more. Contact us by calling 592-8653 and leave us a message for more information.

Thoughts until next week
• Confidence on the outsidebegins with integrity on the inside.
• A verbal contract isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.
