A Newton Grove man was jailed earlier this week on myriad charges, suspected in the June 27 break-in of the Roseboro Piggly Wiggly.
Robert Lee Stokes Jr., 23, 800 Church St., was taken into custody Tuesday, charged with three counts of breaking and entering, three counts of larceny after breaking and entering and three counts of possession stolen goods.
In addition, warrants charging him with attempted breaking and entering were also served.
According to Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Pope, Stokes’ charges stem from a summer break-in at the grocery store, where a window was damaged to gain entry.
Stolen during the break-in were assorted cigarettes.
Stokes was jailed under a $20,000 bond and is expected to make his first court appearance Friday, Oct. 26.
