A Roseboro man is facing three serious charges after being linked to a break-in and larceny that took place in Autryville back on Aug. 20.
Johnny Lee Williams, 28, of 160 Williams Lane, Roseboro, was charged with breaking and entering; larceny after breaking and entering; and possession of stolen goods/property.
He was arrested after deputy J.T. Riley stopped his 2001 Chevy Malibu early Wednesday morning for driving left of center on N.C. Hwy. 242 at Cooper Road in Salemburg.
Riley discovered that there was a warrant for Williams’ arrest in connection with the Aug. 20 break-in that took place at 1357 Tew Road in Autryville.
In the incident, a barn was broken into. Investigators discovered that the only thing taken was a boat motor. Value of the motor was not listed on the report.
After investigation, Williams was linked to the crime. He had been seen until Riley stopped him Wednesday morning.
Williams was taken to the Sampson County Detention Center and was placed under at $25,000 secured bond. His first court appearance will be Nov. 9.
According to the North Carolina Department of Corrections, the suspect has convictions dating back to 2007. Those convictions include speeding to elude arrest, operating a vehicle without a license, and speeding (November 2007); larceny (March 2008); possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (August 2008); and felony breaking and entering (June 2011).
