Editor:
I voted in early voting for the President of the United States and other offices. I did vote for our President Barack Obama.
I was very shocked to see that on Thursday there was still no real reference in The Sampson Independent that our president had been re-elected. I noticed that our president was recognized as winning re-election on the front page of The Fayetteville Observer on Wednesday morning.
I actually feel that it was very disrespectful to not make mention of the winner of our presidential election. I hate to say this, but I honestly feel that if the election would have went the other way, we would have seen recognition of the winner. To know that this paper,The Sampson Independent, supposedly represents my community saddens me. I would hope that in the elections to come, that you will give the winner of the President of the United States the recognition he deserves, no matter what his race or differences you may think. REALLY!

(Editor’s note: The Sampson Independent’s press deadline was before the election was called Tuesday evening, and the Associated Press story we ran reflected that while President Obama was ahead at press time, the race was still too close to call. Our Thursday story and commentaries on Page A4 reflected his win.)

I have no respect for this president. Just as he has no respect for the country he's supposed to be the leader of. He is an embarassment to the country and and should NEVER have been re-elected. He may well be the president of the United States but he will NEVER be my president.
I just hope We have a country left when he's finally done.
