Mayor recognizes Faison
James M. Faison Jr. receives a framed proclamation from Clinton Mayor Lew Starling in recognition of the many services to the city and surrounding area. Faison, who turned 89 at the end of September, was noted in the proclamation as 'an outstanding man and living legacy' and Oct. 20 was proclaimed 'James M. Faison Jr. Day.' Faison was recognized for his service to 'his country, church, fraternity and community as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II, deacon and faithful member of First Baptist Church, founding member of two Omega Psi Phi Fraternity chapters, member of the City of Clinton's Environmental Advisory Board and an educator for many, many years.'
