The Sampson County Parks & Recreation ended its 2012 football season on Nov. 20. For the 2012 football season, SCPR acquired three 7-8 tackle teams (two from the Western District and one from the Eastern District), three 9-10 football teams (one from the Western District, Southern District, and Eastern District), and three 11-12 tackle teams (one from the Western District and two from Royal Lane, who participated in this year’s season with SCPR).

For the 7-8 tackle season, the Western Panthers took the Season Championship title, followed by the Eastern Steelers in second and the Western Redskins in third. In the first round of the tournament, the Western Redskins played the Eastern Steelers at Lakewood High School. The Eastern Steelers won the game with a score of 27-7, and went on to play the Western Panthers for the Tournament Championship at Hobbton High School. In a close game, the Eastern Steelers won the game against the Western Panthers, 20-19, naming them the Tournament Champions.

In the 9-10 tackle division the Eastern Jets clinched the Season Championship title followed by the Western Lions in second place and the Southern Vikings in third. The Western Lions hosted the Southern Vikings at Lakewood High School in the first round of the tournament, beating them with a score of 20-6, taking them to Hobbton High School to play the Eastern Jets for the Tournament Championship. The Eastern Jets won the game over the Western Lions, 19-6, naming them the Tournament Champions as well.

In 11-12 tackle, the Western Saints held an undefeated season against the Clinton Rams (second place) and the Clinton Buccaneers (third place). The Clinton Rams and Clinton Buccaneers battled for a place in the Championship game at Royal Lane. The Clinton Rams came out on top and played the Western Saints for the Championship title. The Western Saints fell short against the Clinton Rams in the Championship game with a score of 34-14, naming the Clinton Rams Tournament Champions.
