Cedar Point

A black tie event is being held at the church, and tickets are available. The $25 donation benefits the Cedar Point Community Outreach. The Black Tie Event will be held June 22, 2013 in the Cedar Point Multipurpose Building. Contact the church for tickets at 910 594-0115.

Disciples Church

Men’s Conference will be held June 15 from 10 a.m. until noon. Everyone is invited. Vacation Bible School will be June 24-28 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Youth Day will be June 30. Baptist Church

Vacation Bible School will be held Thursday-Friday, June 20-12, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church, located at 5220 Faison Hwy., Clinton. On Saturday, June 22, a Community Day Picnic will be held, beginning at 11 a.m. Games, free dinner plates (hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken and fish), fun and fellowship. The Rev. Marvin T. UM Church

Coharie United Methodist Church, located on U.S. 421 a quarter mile from the Marathon Store, will hold a soup kitchen every fourth Tuesday night of the month. Anyone who is in need of a good meal is more than welcome to come out and eat.

The church, located at 900 College St., will present Distinct Voices of Praise, the new generation that’s bringing a new style of gospel music to Sampson County, Saturday, June 15, 6 p.m. The MLK Community Youth Choir will perform.

Pastor anniversary services will be held June 18-20 at Greater Six Runs Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey for their Pastor, the Rev. Leslie Morrisey’s 29th anniversary. Tuesday’s preacher is the Rev. Church will celebrate the 26th anniversary of its pastor, Bishop Varnie N. Fullwood, and First Lady, Idella M. Fullwood, beginning Thursday, June 20 with Dr. S.E. Bryant of Snowhill MB Church, Roseboro as guest speaker, accompanied by the Snowhill Church family and choir. On Friday, June 21, Bishop Eva Darden, pastor of House of Praise, Newton Grove, will be guest speaker, accompanied by clergy, members and the choir of the Southeastern District Assembly churches. On Sunday morning, June 23, beginning at 10:45 a.m., the guest speaker will be Pastor Willie Pennington of Kingdom Word Church, Newport News, Va., and the Mt. Pleasant Mass choir will minister through music. The culmination service will be held Sunday afternoon, June 23, at 4 p.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor David Flowers of Central Baptist Church of Whiteville, accompanied by his church family and choir.

A Pre-Father’s Day service will be held June 20-21, with Elder Ralph Smith and Stevens Choir and church in charge on June 20. On June 21, service will be rendered by Pastor James and St. James of Delway, along with the church and choir. Service time is 7;30 p.m. each night. Father’s Day celebration will be held the fourth Sunday. Morning service will be at 11 a.m. The pastor, Elder Willie Bryant will bring the morning message and the men will be in charge of the service.
