Wayne Country Day proved to much for the varsity Harrells Christian Crusaders, who lost the home game Friday night 75-51.
Wayne jumped out to an early 26-10 lead in the first quarter and continued to pound away at the Crusaders throughout, amassing a 20-point lead, at 45-25, at the half and continuing their strong shooting ability throughout the remainder of the game.
Harrells tried to forge a comeback in the opening frame of the second half, scoring 15 points of their own, but they couldn’t hold down Wayne, who added 18 more points in the third and 11 more in the final frame
Graham DiPinto led scoring for the Crusaders with 17 points. Also scoring were Zack Carlton, 15; Josh Driskill, 5; John Wesley Hairr, 4; Patrick Walker, 3; and Chris Cannady, Zachary Batts and Channing Kelly, with 2 points each. Dasmine Joyner also contributed 1 point.
DiPinton pulled down 5 rebounds and Driskill had 4.
