NEW YORK — Mrs. Elois Jacobs Matthews, 77, of 14251 Sutter Ave., formerly of the Hayes Chapel Community, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Long Island Jewish Hospital in Long Island, NY.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Hayes Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alfred Holston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Matthews is survived by one son, Desi Matthews of Ozone Park, NY, two sisters Charlie Mae Boykin and Arrest Evans, both of Rose Hill; one brother, James “Buddy” Jacobs of Queens, NY., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The public will be received from 1 until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9. at Carter Funeral Home, with the family present from 5 until 6 p.m.
