Melva O. Faison, 80

FAISON — Melva O. Faison, 80, of 138 Shine Road, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Rex Hospital. Born in Duplin County, she is the daughter of the late William and Mary Brinson Beamon.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Burning Bush Holy Church with the Rev. Orto Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in Cobbs Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Faison of the home; four daughters, Louise Faison of Goldsboro, Gladys Williams of Thorofare, N.J., Kymberlee Chestnutt of San Diego, Calif., and Shranda Fennell of Garner; three sons, Leroy Faison and Ronnie Faison of Faison and Samuel A. Faison of Thorofare, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vestus Beamon of Hopkinsville, Ky. and George Beamon of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and one sister, Mary McLamb of Faison.

Viewing will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Garris Funeral Home Chapel, with the family present from 7-8 p.m.
