Two armed suspects are being sought following a burglary at a Carpenter Lane residence over the weekend.

In that incident, which was reported to sheriff’s deputies late Saturday night, the two suspects reportedly entered the Carpenter Lane residence around 9:30 p.m. The victim was home, and the suspects pulled weapons and demanded money.

Approximately $135 in cash and a cell phone were taken during the burglary. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspects, said Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Pope, were armed with unknown type handguns.

Officers are currently looking for two men. One is described as a black male, 5 foot 8 inches tall and wearing a black hoodie-style shirt and black jeans. He was wearing a white handkerchief around his face. The second suspect is described as a black male, 6 feet tall and wearing a grey hoodie-style shirt and black jeans. He also had a white handkerchief around his face.

Officers have no leads on what type of vehicle the suspects may have used to get away from the scene or what direction they traveled once they fled the residence.

Anyone with information on either suspect or the incident itself is asked to call the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department at 910-592-4141.
