Union Grove holding spirit of love celebration Sunday

You are cordially invited to join the Union Grove Church of Christ, Clinton, in the spirit of Christian fellowship and love on Sunday, Feb. 3 at 3 p.m. This is the day we will gather to celebrate our love for Jesus Christ. Pastor Alice Jean Boykin of the Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton, will deliver the special message of love. With February representing the month of love, the church family would be honored for the public to be their Valentine for Jesus. The dress for the event is read or white in honor of this celebration. The church has a faith goal of over 100 women who will make the choice to participate in this year’s service and be special guests. The church family is encouraging men to show their unconditional support for these lovely ladies by coming out and participating in this special celebration of love for Jesus. The 35th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 4442 Bonnetsville Road, Clinton. The choir rehearsal date will be Monday, Feb. 4 and Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Church. All churches in Sampson and surrounding counties are asked to participate. This program is sponsored by the Sampson County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. The Rev. Marvin T. Clowney Sr. is the president and the Rev. Harold Boykin is the vice president. The Trinity United Free Will Holiness Church, Clinton, will have their regular morning worship service Sunday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. Bishop Larry Mosson will bring the morning message and the music will be rendered by the choir. For transportation, call 910-590-7641.

The regular morning worship service will be held at the Wilson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Turkey Sunday, Feb. 3 at 11:15 a.m. The guest minister will be the Rev. Mark McIntrye of Goldsboro. The youth-adult choir will provide the music. There will be a youth tribute to Black History program. Everyone is invited.

The 42nd Fashion of the Middle Eastern District Original Free Will Baptist Workers Conference will convene at the L.N. Forbes Tabernacle of Wilson Jan. 31-Feb. 2 at 7 p.m., Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The closing message will be preached by Bishop James Leftwridge and music by Union No. 1 and Union 2 Mass Choir. Everyone is invited to attend.

Regular morning worship service will be held at the Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, H.B. Lewis Road, Clinton, Sunday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Jeffrey White, will bring the morning message and the senior choir will render the music.

Christ Missionary Baptist Church, 5220 Faison Hwy., Clinton, will have morning worship service Sunday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. Sunday school will be at 9 a.m. Bible study will be held each Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The Rev. Marvin T. Clowney Sr. is the pastor. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

An appreciation service honoring our friend and brother in Christ minister Carl Faison will be held Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. It will be a breaking the bread of life service. The guest speakers are Apostle Lester E. Coward of the Deliverance Temple Revival Center Church in Dudley. On Friday, Feb. 22, Saturday, Feb. 23 and Sunday, Feb. 24, it will be held at the House of Prayer, Juniper Road, Faison. Also, Dr. Elevena Oliver of Saint Jude Church of Christ, Warsaw will speak. Come out and be blessed with a powerful word and some good fellowship in Jesus’ name.

The pastor’s aide of Brown’s Chapel Church will sponsor a Women of the Bible program Saturday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. The host pastor is the Rev. Jeffrey White.

On Sunday, Feb. 3, regular morning worship service will be held at the Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Roseboro at 11 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. S.E. Bryant, will bring the morning message and the senior choir will render the music. On Monday, Feb. 4, will be the church’s annual revival. The guest preacher will be the Rev. James Page, choir and congregation of the Adoran Baptist Church, Wallace. On Tuesday, the Rev. Kevin Allen, choir and congregation of Sams Springs, will be in charge. On Wednesday, the Rev. Claudie Morrisey, choir and congregation of Fayetteville and the guest choir is Mingle Hill, and then on Friday, the Rev. Floyd Ray and Mount Zion, and the guest choir will be Elizabeth.

On Sunday, Feb. 10, there will be a pastor aide program at Saint Jude Church, Clinton, beginning at 4 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Lori Jean Sutton of Bearskin and the Voices of Praise will render the music. You are invited. The host pastor is the Rev. Willie Bryant.

The Rev. Floyd Ray of the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Dunn will render service at the Running Branch Disciple Church of Clinton Friday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and will be accompanied by his choir and congregation. Pastor Calvin Deans invites the public.

The Western Assembly Disciples of Christ Churches Bible Institute will begin the 2013 course January through October. The fee is $20 for registration at the Western Assembly headquarters building, 9766 U.S. Hwy. 701 north, Newton Grove.
