Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less!

Who wouldn’t want to live a healthier lifestyle? How many of us can honestly say we wouldn’t want to lose a little (or a lot) of weight? Well, here’s your chance because Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less is a 15 week weight-management program that was developed by professionals from North Carolina State University, NC Cooperative Extension, East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine and the NC Division of Public Health.

The cost of the program is only $40 and there are no additional costs. ESMMWL is not like other weight-loss diets or physical activity prescription; Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less is a lifestyle! Each lesson informs, empowers and motivates participants to live mindfully as they make choices about eating and physical activity. The program provides opportunities for participants to track their progress and keep a journal of healthy eating and physical activity behaviors.

Weekly classes will be held at the Center for Health and Wellness on Wednesdays from noon until 1 p.m. beginning March 7 and running through June, but you must attend the free information session first. The free information session is being held on March 7. This will be the only orientation session and opportunity to register. The program is targeted for individuals 18 years or older however; the topics discussed will benefit the entire family.

Studies show when you have a buddy fighting the battle of the bulge with you that the success rate is greater and more sustainable so we encourage friends and spouses to participate!
