A 32-year-old Clinton woman found herself in trouble with law enforcement in the wee hours of Friday morning after she reportedly broke into a home and then tried to assault two people sleeping there.
Sarah Marie Tew, 32, 242 Hamilton Drive, has been charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and two counts simple assault following the incident which was reported to police just after 3 a.m. Friday.
Clinton police reports show that officers were called to the Eastover Avenue residence of a 36-year-old victim, and when they arrived on scene they found Tew being held down by one of two victims in the case.
As officers were trying to interview the three, Tew, reports show, became argumentative and had to be taken outside, cuffed and placed in police custody.
Reports note that one of the victims told officers she were awakened after the suspect broke a window, entered the residence and was standing over her.
The suspect is charged with striking one of the victim’s in the face, and then fighting with the other, who attempted to grab her during the altercation with the 36-year-old.
Tew, reports further note, was unable to be interviewed at the time of her arrest because of her aggravated manner.
She was taken to the magistrate’s office and given a $1,000 bond for the three charges
