WARSAW — The Clinton High School golf team traveled to Duplin County on Wednesday in a make up match from Monday’s rain out to play at the Majestic Pines Golf Course in a East Central Conference match. The Dark Horses finished in second place as they have done most every match this season.
The medalist for the match was from South Lenoir by the name of Scott Novicki who shot a 74 for the 18-hole event.
South Lenoir took top honors shooting 315 as the windy conditions caused the scores to be higher than normal. Clinton took second with the score of 324 followed by East Duplin with 348. Richlands earned fourth shooting 350 with Croatan placing fifth with 354. Shooting 369, Northside earned the sixth spot with Swansboro finishing in seventh with 371 and Southwest Onslow ended the day in eighth place shooting 388.
Individual scores for Clinton: Brian Donaldson, 81; Festus Turlington, 81; Will Newton, 81; Dylan Jordan, 81; Field Palmer, 85; Stephen Wiggins, 89.
The Dark Horses next match will follow the Easter Holiday break.
