The No. 1 ranked Clinton Dark Horses got their revenge on their Duplin County rival Friday night, adding a big win to their record and soundly defeating East Duplin 85-66.
Starting the game off on fire, the Horses blew the roof off with a major lead. By quarter’s end, Clinton’s boys were up 28-9.
The Horses were not done, either. Strong defense that created turnovers and easy buckets served to extend the Clinton lead, and by the break, the Horses had roared to a 51-29 lead.

With numerous plays and dunks provided by Thaxter Spruill and Shian Bradshaw, the Horses carried on to the fourth quarter.Staying confident, the Horses trampled the Panthers once more. Ending the fourth quarter with a score of 85-66, the Horses took home the win.
“We lost to East Duplin the first time we played them by one point, so pay back was on our minds. Our defense was on fire tonight” said Coach Randy Jordan of Clinton. “The game was never as close as the score was.”
Leading their team to victory, Ryan Chester scored a total of 27 points, while Demontio Bryant scored,16; Shian Bradshaw, 14; Wil Pearson, 10; Spruillm 8; and Zach Underwood with 4 points.
