CLINTON — Mr. David Wycliffe Marshburn, 71, of 108 Eastover Avenue, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 in Raleigh.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Alan Gibson and the Rev. Sam Loy officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Mr. Marshburn, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late James Moore Marshburn and Mary Thomas Torrance Marshburn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a graduate of Elon College, attended UNC Chapel Hill and was a member of the UNC Alumni Association, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He worked with Delmar Printing and was a school teacher.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Marshburn McLemore of Clinton; a brother, James Thomas Marshburn of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., the hour prior to the service, on Saturday, Dec. 22 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Grace UMC Building Fund, 800 Smith St., Clinton, NC 28328.
