ROSEBORO — Mrs. Iris Brock Tew, 78, of 3095 Penny Tew Mill Road, died on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at her home.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Old Mill Church of God with the Rev. Jimmy Honeycutt and the Rev. Gary Bateman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Tew was born on May 23, 1934 in Sampson County to the late Ira Braxton and Foy R. Barefoot Brock. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Maxton Tew; her brother, Carroll Brock; and one granddaughter, Bridgett Autry.

She was a member of Old Mill Church of God and worked as a back winder at Erwin Cotton Mill.

She is survived by three daughters, Debra Mac Preddy of Roseboro, Pam Autry and husband, Randy of Clinton and Melinda Tew of the home; one son, Roy Lynn Tew and wife, Sherri of Roseboro; two sisters, Dixie Tew of Hope Mills and Faye Vann of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Emily Wise, Max Autry, Christal Tew, Brandon Tew, Samuel Tew, Sarah Tew and Amber Tew; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at the home.
