DURHAM — Mr. Owen Melvin Jr., 78, previously of Sampson County, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 in Durham.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 at Smith Chapel AME Zion Church, 7485 Old Mintz Hwy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 12-1 p.m., one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Melvin is survived by his wife, Naomi H. Melvin; three children, Calvin Roberts, Lisa Melvin and Sarina McDonald; two brothers, Rolland Parker and Glenwood Parker; and one sister, Jackie Arrango.
